If your charity is a charitable company, every trustee is also a company director, and that brings Companies House identity verification with it.

The requirement started on 18 November 2025. Existing directors had to verify by the company's first confirmation statement after that date, and the transition year ends on 18 November 2026. New directors need to verify as part of their appointment.

Each verified person receives a personal code. Without codes for every director, the confirmation statement can't be filed. A few practical points:

CIOs and SCIOs are not registered at Companies House, so this doesn't apply to them.
